Tips from our engineers
Gypsum or POP ceiling?
Gypsum board ceilings are faster and crack less; POP allows more curved designs. Both need a good steel frame.
Keep ceiling height
Leave at least 9 ft clear height under a false ceiling, so plan the drop before you build the roof.
Staircase safety
Railings should be at least 3 ft high with gaps under 4 inches if you have children.
How long does a false ceiling last?
A well-fixed gypsum ceiling lasts 15–20 years if the roof above does not leak.
