About this test
Get the specific gravities and absorption of crush or sand — the values you need for concrete mix design and moisture corrections.
How it's calculated
- Coarse: OD SG = A ÷ (B − C); SSD SG = B ÷ (B − C); apparent = A ÷ (A − C)
- Absorption = (SSD mass − oven-dry mass) ÷ oven-dry mass × 100
