About this test
Enter the mass retained on each sieve to get the percent passing, the particle-size distribution curve, D10, D30 and D60, the coefficients of uniformity and curvature, and the USCS group for coarse-grained soils.
How it's calculated
- % passing = 100 − cumulative mass retained ÷ total × 100
- Dx by logarithmic interpolation of the gradation curve
- Cu = D60 ÷ D10; Cc = D30² ÷ (D10 × D60)
- Well graded: gravel Cu ≥ 4 / sand Cu ≥ 6 and 1 ≤ Cc ≤ 3
